“A Word to the Wise: Never Leave Unattended"
Collages by Dwight Owsley, July 31 through August 8, Saturdays and Sundays, 1-5 pm.
Bold, edgy, and formally stunning, this new work of Dwight Owsley at rosyendpost represents a breakthrough in contemporary collage. A native Texan from Fort Worth, Owsley uses classic and iconic imagery as well as Pop references to create pieces that exude a cerebral, yet often raucous voice, as if each colorful multi-media extravaganza were it’s own distinct personality. Owsley titles his pieces carefully and crafts every collage with line, pattern, color and image, always with a firm grasp of classical composition. From what seems a pregnant Gulliver to a Gauguin-like self portrait, each of Owsley’s collages packs a wise and witty punch.
